How it works

Three calls you don't have to make

You make one call. We make the rest — the tow operator, the repairer, and your insurer.

01

Call us at the scene

Tell us where you are and what happened. We confirm you're safe and get a tow moving under the VIC accident allocation process.

02

We coordinate the tow

Your vehicle is collected by an operator from the official rotation for your area and taken to an assessment point.

03

Repair and insurer handled

Our Partner Repair Network provides the quote and liaises directly with your insurer on authorisation, while we arrange a hire car where your policy allows it.

Why this matters

Towing after a Victorian accident isn't first-come, first-served

Across Melbourne's metropolitan area and the Mornington Peninsula, accident towing is run as a regulated allocation scheme administered through VicRoads. Geelong and its surrounding area operate under a separate self-management allocation scheme. In both cases, operators are dispatched on a roster basis rather than by whoever gets there first.

Accident Assist Line operates within these official areas, so the operator you're allocated is legitimate and accredited — not someone working the scene without accreditation. Read about the scheme (Essential Services Commission Victoria).

Common questions

Before you call

Is this an insurance company?

No. Accident Assist Line is a business name of Everyday Car Repair Network Pty Ltd, an independent vehicle accident assistance and tow/repair coordination service. We aren't an insurer and we're not affiliated with any insurance company — we work alongside your existing insurer on your behalf.

Do I need my insurance details ready?

It helps if you have them, but it's not essential to call us first. Your safety and getting the vehicle recovered come first — we can pick up policy details once the tow is underway.

What areas does the VIC allocation process cover?

Victoria has two regulated accident-towing areas: the Melbourne controlled area (metropolitan Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula) and the Geelong self-management area. We operate across both. Outside these areas, standard roadside assistance and towing arrangements apply.

Will I be charged for the tow?

In most cases the tow and repair are covered through your insurance policy. We'll confirm your specific cost position with you and your insurer before any work proceeds.
